Scratches – Exhibition of Dóra Emese and Plank Antal

The K-ARTS Art Foundation organized the young sculptor couple’s debut exhibition in the Kápolna Gallery (in the gardan and the exhibition space of Contemporary Art Workshops of Kecskemét). After the greeting of László Füzi, the director of the institution, the exhibition was opened by art historian Árva-Józsa Kitty.

The biomorphic shapes of organic works by Dóra Emese display the elements of the living world molded from steel plate, stone or wood. The restrained lyricism of her sculptures unfolds from the contrast between the the objects brittle, heavy material and the lightness of fine-line patterns taken from nature. Antal Plank's creative activity is characterized by the diversity of materials and the interest in matter. He turns curiously to the myriad ways of expression given by the various materials, the sculptor is also experienced in machining stone, wood or bronze. The reduced design world of his steel objects usually built from geometric elements, which are often painted or welded.

Several of the works to be presented by the young artists were made in the framework of the Steel Sculpture Symposium of Kecskemét and many of these owned by the K-ARTS Art Collection.
