Protected wading birds, three grey herons appeared on a public area of Ferde Street: water birds built their nests at one of the busiest junctions in Budapest!
The area surrounding the bus terminal at Ferde Street, Budapest, the junction, has been reconstructed. As a part of the project, the stainless steel herons designed by a landscape architect were manufactured by K-ARTS Művészeti Kft. On 8 January three bird forms in different postures were installed in the ornamental pool of the shape of an irregular rectangle decorating the spectacular promenade. The metal grey herons create the effect of a real flock of birds standing in a lake.
Using the plans, materials and techniques provided by K-ARTS Művészeti Kft., Antal Plank, sculptor created the abstract bird bodies. The weather-resistant statues enhance the spatial experience, they are nice additions to the pool, and they have become a spectacular feature of the reconstruction.
